So, you want to know what starts in parks? Well, let's start with the following: achievement,
community, conservation, economic development, health, heritage, nature and future. Remember - Come Visit, Come
Play. Read the "It
Starts in Parks" messages.
The Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department improves the quality of life for our residents
and visitors by offering wholesome programs and activities, providing enjoyable facilities and preserving the aesthetic
beauty of our community. For years, the City of Stevens Point has been known throughout the state for its fine
parks system and high quality of life it offers. The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department maintains 375
acres of developed and undeveloped park land.
More than 180,00 patrons visit the K.B. Willett Ice Arena
annually. Other recreational areas, such as the Winter
Sports Area, are tucked away in the scenic
121 acre Iverson Park. For those hot summer days, Stevens Point features the Donald Copps Municipal Pool and Waterslide Complex.
The Parks and Recreation Department provides year long enjoyment for the residents of Stevens Point.
